AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute (TCCRI) is pleased to announce the unanimous election of State Senator Larry Taylor (R-Friendswood) as the new President of the Research Institute’s Board of Directors. Already a TCCRI Board member, Senator Taylor has been involved with the organization since 2003, when he was sworn in for his first session as a State Representative.
“It is an honor to accept the role of TCCRI President for the 2015-2016 term,” said Senator Taylor. “Like many other conservative legislators, I trust the valuable support TCCRI provides to help enact meaningful reform in Austin and I look forward to the opportunity to lead as we continue to be a part of moving this state forward.”
Larry Taylor is now beginning his second term in the Texas Senate. Taylor is Chairman of the Senate Public Education Committee. He also serves on the Senate Finance Committee, and the Senate Business and Commerce Committee. While in the House of Representatives, Taylor chaired the House Republican Caucus.
“Larry Taylor is a man of strong character and virtue,” said TCCRI Board Vice President and State Representative Geanie Morrison (R-Victoria). “He epitomizes a blend of conservative principle and common sense governance, and he’s a good friend.”
Added fellow TCCRI Board member State Senator Kelly Hancock (R-North Richland Hills): “I’ve served with Larry Taylor in both the House and Senate, and as a Board Member of TCCRI. He is a courageous conservative, dedicated to the common good of all Texans, representing the best interests of his constituents.”
Larry is a native Texan, a graduate of Baylor University, a husband, a father, and a grandfather. He resides in Friendswood, Texas with his wife Kerri.
Founded in 1996, The Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute (TCCRI) is committed to shaping public policy through a principled approach to state government.
