On May 2nd, the House Select Committee on Protecting Texas LNG exports met to discuss what the state can do in the face of the Biden Administration’s moratorium on liquified natural gas (LNG) exports to ensure that the LNG sector remains secure and stable. The federal government—especially the executive branch—has used its rule-making to favor an ideological worldview uninterested in economic growth or stability. This motivation explains the Administration's LNG export pause. TCCRI's written testimony discusses the importance of LNG exports to the state's economy, the negative impacts of the LNG export pause, and the considerations that should be taken into account by lawmakers seeking to remedy the issue. Please read the entire testimony here.
