TCCRI Statement on Speaker Phelan and Texas House Republican Caucus Roll Out of the "Healthy Families, Healthy Texas" Initiative
AUSTIN, TX – Following Speaker Phelan, and the Texas House Republican Caucus Press Conference on the "Healthy Families, Healthy Texas" Initiative, the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute released the following statement:

"Texans are concerned about health care, and not just affordability, but also access to critical providers. We commend Speaker Phelan and the Texas House Republican Caucus and its members for taking a stand by providing real policy solutions to affordability and access. We hear time and time again that Texas should expand Medicaid. Expanding Medicaid coverage will take resources away from Texans who truly need the services; and, furthermore, will still not address the issue of provider shortages and lack of transparency in the health care industry. We look forward to working with the Texas House as they work to accomplish affordability and access for all Texans." ###
