(AUSTIN, TEXAS, August 20, 2019--)At their annual board of directors meeting, the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute’s board unanimously voted to name Mia Garza McCord as their new president.
McCord has been serving as TCCRI’s interim president and was previously the organization’s vice-president. Mia is a native of Hebbronville, Texas, and has worked for nearly fifteen years in Texas Politics. Mrs. McCord’s appointment is notable both as the organization’s first Hispanic and as its first woman to serve in this capacity.
“Mia brings a wealth of experience and relationships that will ensure a bright and long future for TCCRI,” said Senator Larry Taylor (R-Friendswood), Chairman of TCCRI’s Board of Directors, “Her vision, energy, background, and strong conservative principles are exactly what our conservative movement needs.”
“TCCRI is an un-matched leader in conservative public policy development in the state of Texas. My work with TCCRI over the last year has only solidified my commitment to the conservative policies that have made this state the most prosperous in the country, and I am proud to be part of the work that is being done here. In my new role, I will strive to give greater voice to the conservative accomplishments of our elected officials and continue to promote our principles of limited government, individual liberty, free enterprise and traditional values,” said McCord.
TCCRI was founded in 1996 by a group of state leaders determined to implement conservative public policies in state government. TCCRI has distinguished itself as a leading state-based think tank and has been very successful in living up to its mission of shaping public policy through a principled approach to government.
